First Lady’s son brands Wa Mutharika ‘tyrant’ on Facebook

LILONGWE (Malawi Democrat) –A son of First Lady Mrs Callista Mutharika from her first marriage, Brian Chimombo, a UK based university student has blasted Malawi President Bingu wa Mutharika calling him a “tyrant”, according to his Facebook page.
Twape Mtila tweeted to alert Malawians on social networking site about Callista’s son Facebook status.
“Guys!! Search Brian Chimombo on Facebook! That’s Callista’s son! Check out his last Facebook status! Wow!!! I’m blown!!” tweeted Mtila.
Callista’s son posted: “Aaaaaarrrrghhh!!! My mum…married a tyrant!!! “
He went further to post: “Malawi was the most peaceful country in Africa, and now people are dying in the streets, the press is being shut down and DPP thugs are sharpening machetes in the street.
The First Lady’s son says his own biological father wouldn’t endorse the actions by the man who is married to his mother, saying he “would be shifting in his grave!!!”
Brian’s Facebook rant comes at a time rumours circulated that the First Lady was contemplating divorce with Wa Mutharika because of his increasing authoritarian rule.

Wa Mutharika married Callista in 2010, after his first wife, Ethel, died of cancer three years ago.
Callista, a former legislator, was a senior member of Wa Mutharika’s governing Democratic Progressive Party. In 2004, she was appointed tourism minister in Mutharika’s first cabinet.
