Joyce Banda says PP’s manifesto to come from Tiuzeni Campaign
LILONGWE (Malawi Democrat) -Malawi’s Vice President who is also People’s Party (PP) president Joyce Banda, says her party’s election manifesto will be drawn up by people through ‘Tiuzeni Campaign’ designed to listen to people’s concerns.
Banda said PP will aim to draft a “down-to-earth manifesto suitable for the people.”
She says the party leadership through Tiuzeni Campaign will solicit opinions from a wider range of people, including voters.
Banda said the campaign will see the party asking constituents to outline development projects they want implemented in their areas.
“PP is guided by three cornerstones of unity, equity and development,†said Banda.
The Vice President said no other party in the country has conducted a campaign to get people’s views on what should be contained in an electoral blue print.
Banda  formed PP after she was expelled  from the ruling  DPP for refusing to endorse President Bingu wa Mutharika’s brother Peter, to take over power in 2014.
